Yoga & TRE
with Maria Alfaro
Upcoming Dates: Saturday, January 14 & June 2, 2012
Time: 2:00-4:30 pm
Cost: $45
What Is TRE© (Trauma Release Evercises)
TRE is a simple, gentle and profound technique that facilitates the relaxation of the psoas muscle and the release of physical and emotional tension and stress. The TRE exercises tire the legs, triggering an involuntary shaking and trembling response, which begins in the legs and often spreads throughout the body. This shaking is actually the nervous system’s way of discharging long-held tension or unconscious muscle contraction in order to restore the body to wholeness.
TRE, developed by David Berceli, a bioenergetic therapist, has been used successfully all over the world for more than a decade. Our body is the greatest ally for healing trauma. An hour session of gentle and all levels Yoga will precede the revolutionary Trauma Release Exercises facilitated by Maria Alfaro.
Some benefits you may expect from TRE:
• Improved sense of being "grounded"
• Release of deep chronic tension and increase of overall energy and stamina
• Discharge of buried emotional and physical trauma
• "Shake loose" unconscious involuntary muscular contractions • Promotes deep relaxation and improves circulation
• Increase of the body's sensitivity to pleasure
• The healing of sciatica
• Increased flexibility

Enlightened Living: Yoga & Dharma
with Katchie Ananda
Dates: October 14th, November 4th, December 2nd, January 20th, February 17th, 2012
Time: 6:30-8:30pm
Cost: $40 per session, $125 for series
Cultivate the mind with sacred teachings on practical and spiritual philosophical methodology. Dharma helps guide each individual in exploring how to quiet the turbulent mind to find peace, contentment, and realization.
Each class begins with an hour of mindful Anusara yoga (all levels) followed by a guided meditation, and concludes with a dharma talk, inquiry and discussion. Based on core Buddhist teachings, all classes are an invitation to find greater ease, well-being, and joy in life.
With the encouragement and mentorship of her teacher, Jack Kornfield, Katchie is inspired to teach this special series. Come away with a greater understanding of core Bhuddist teachings and meditation practices essential in the journey of awakening as taught within the Insight meditation tradition.
The Hatha Yoga is taught in the Anusara style - a unique experience that will reach your heart and soul. It is an experience that unifies a life-affirming Tantric pholisophy of intrinsic goodness with Universal Principles of Alignment.
This course brings together a magical mix of ingredients into a series of life-affirming practices that can only be found with Katchie Ananda. An Anusara practice will open your heart to grace, and with each dharma talk you will allow your mind to contemplate new truths. Combined with the power of the present moment, each session will leave you with a deeper sense of self, and awaken within you what you have always known to be true.
